The Shanghai Taiwanese Children School proudly celebrates the successful launch of its Canadian Standard Curriculum (CSC) program. Now in its inaugural year, the program is led by a committed team of nine full-time teaching staff—including a Principal, a Director of English Language Learning, and seven dedicated teachers—supported by Education Assistants and other staff. All members of the teaching team are fully certified professionals with strong expertise in English language education and the development of 21st century skills.

The CSC curriculum is built on two core streams: English Language Development and English in Action.

English Language Development follows a structured, step-by-step approach to help students master essential skills. From early literacy foundations such as phonemic awareness and reading, to comprehension, vocabulary growth, writing, and expressive communication, the program nurtures students’ love of language and learning. This foundation ensures that students become confident and capable users of English as they progress.

English in Action incorporates the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs) into engaging interdisciplinary lessons. By blending academic learning, project-based inquiry, and global awareness, students are encouraged to connect classroom learning with real-world challenges. Lessons are carefully designed to be age-appropriate and aligned with Taiwan’s 108 curriculum, ensuring both local relevance and international outlook.

Beyond academic excellence, the CSC program emphasizes the holistic development of 21st century skills, including social responsibility, personal growth, communication, and collaboration. By combining strong English foundations with global citizenship education, the program equips students to thrive not only in academics but also as responsible, forward-thinking members of society.
