Happy new semester! CINEC Education Group welcomes our students and teachers for a new school year!
It has been one month since the beginning of the new semester. Our students have been adapting to the busy schedule at school. Principals from our four schools have provided some messages for our students and parents. Their valuable advice came from their many years of teaching experience. We believe that you will get some inspiration after reading them.
Shanghai Nanmo Private High School BC Offshore Program
Nanmo students are excited to begin the brand new school year with a focused work ethic, a diligent approach to leading a balanced lifestyle, and a positive attitude. We’ve found communal inspiration in Henry Ford’s quote: “Whether you think you can, or think you can’t, you’re right.” At Nanmo, we KNOW we CAN!
As a team, including our BC teachers, Chinese teachers, and BC and Chinese administration, we are enthusiastic about the 2019-20 school year and are working closely together to promote student health and excellence.
Warm regards,
Becky Block, Principal, Shanghai Nanyang Model Private High School (BC Program)
Students and staff are off to a fabulous start to the 2019-2020 school year at Jiaxing Senior High British Columbia Offshore School. We have 47 fantastic new grade 10 students joining us this year, and they’ve already demonstrated a passion for learning and a keen interest in building student leadership capacity throughout our school. The grade eleven students are also starting the year right, and they have made many improvements since last year by improving their English through our Speak Up English Immersion Program and taking on more significant leadership roles. For the grade twelves, it is always a busy year. We’ve already had our first grade twelve meeting with parents and students to discuss future goals and how to reach them through community service, outstanding academics, and a plan for university application. The meeting was hugely successful, and afterwards, one student commented that they could feel the positive energy and hopefulness for the year ahead.
Sincerely,
Danielle Mercer, Principal, Jiaxing High School (BC Program)
For me the beginning of September is always a great time of the year. This beginning of another school year is in many ways another ‘new year’ and as such, one of new beginnings and opportunities for our students. As this too is also my first year at Luwan BC, it is also a new beginning for me – something I very much look forward to. After over 25 years in education I still feel an excitement and anticipation of what our students can accomplish, both individually and together as a school.
I am very much looking forward to working with the staff and students this coming year. I am especially looking forward to see how our students can grow in their knowledge and learning.
Mark J.H. Wuerch
Principal, Luwan BC High School
Students are excited to start semester one with a distinct focus in each of the three grades. Grade ten students ramp up their speaking and listening skills in spoken language classes, grade eleven students strive for a balanced and healthy lifestyle through physical activity classes, and grade twelve students look forward to achieving top grades in English as well as their chosen electives of physics and biology. Each of these focus areas build on one another to improve student learning to eventually help students transition to universities overseas.
Parents can help students achieve academic success by encouraging their child to practice speaking English as much as possible, while helping them maintain a balanced life through engaging in physical activity, and when the time is right, discuss post secondary options.
Sincerely,
Kent Tamblyn, Principal, Canadian Secondary Wenzhou
